Coach Anthony O’Hara is the assistant director at Sum it Up this season. During the school year Anthony coaches lacrosse at Passaic Valley High School. His favorite lacrosse memory is winning the Klank Division in 2015. Notre Dame is his favorite lacrosse team.
Coach Brian Heyl plays lacrosse for Chatham High School. His favorite lacrosse memory was his first high school season with the freshman team at Chatham. Coach Brian’s favorite college lacrosse team is the Lehigh Mountain Hawks because he has a good friend who will be playing for them next season.
St. Lawrence University
Coach Harris Johnson’s favorite lacrosse memory is winning the prep championship his junior year. It was the first championship he’d won while at Morristown-Beard and it was exciting to finally win something. His favorite college team is Denver because Trevor Baptiste goes there and he was so important to MoBeard Lacrosse, and he has come so far as a player. It is always exciting to watch him play.
Coach Jay Goldy plays lacrosse for Morristown-Beard. His favorite lacrosse memory is during 8th grade, when his team beat Chatham in double overtime in the championship game. Jay’s favorite college lacrosse team is the Denver Pioneers.
Coach John McDonald’s plays for Colgate University. His favorite lacrosse memory is playing with so many great friends and teammates for so long.
Coach Justin Gump is a Pingry School graduate and is currently attending Union College. His position on the lacrosse team is Attack. His favorite lacrosse moment: Making it to the state championship in his junior year at Pingry.
Justin inspired his mother Laura Gump, Sum It Up’s director, to start a lacrosse program for boys in 2012. Justin ran the first highly successful clinic for K–2nd grade boys and the program has been growing ever since.
Coach Matt Sefcik plays for Wagner College. His favorite lacrosse memory is playing in the state championship twice with his high school lacrosse team and getting his first collegiate win with the Wagner College Seahawks.
Coach Nick Miller plays for Drew University. His favorite lacrosse memory was winning the TOC in his junior year of high school. His favorite college team is Towson University.
St. Joe’s University
Coach Nik Hedengren went to Mendham High School and is now playing for St. Joe’s University. His favorite lacrosse moment is playing against his cousin Tom Rago in high school (Tom is also a coach at Sum It Up.)
University of Virginia
Coach Quentin Murray plays for Chatham High School. His favorite lacrosse moment was scoring his first (and only) hat trick against a competitive summer club lacrosse team. His favorite college lacrosse team is the University of Virginia, where he’s going in the fall.
Coach Sean Sweeny’s favorite lacrosse memory is winning the Tournament of Champions his sophomore year of high school. He now plays club lacrosse for Providence College.
University of Richmond
Coach Teddy Hatfield attended Morristown-Beard and now plays for the University of Richmond. His favorite lacrosse memory was when his team defeated Duke 12-10.
University of Denver
Coach Tim Sanford plays lacrosse for the Westminster School in Simsbury, Connecticut. His favorite lacrosse memory is beating Brunswick School in overtime on alumni weekend last year. His favorite college lacrosse team is the University of Denver Pioneers because that’s where he’ll be playing next year.
Coach Tom Rago plays lacrosse for Marist College. His favorite lacrosse memory was growing up playing lacrosse for his rec league and walking around with his dad after every practice and games looking for new balls that were lost.
